THE ALPHA FREQUENCY #710: TUNING OUT THE STATIC: YESHUA’S TEACHINGS ON LIGHT AND DARKNESS

The Words for Light and Darkness

Kia ora, whānau. Today we are looking at a topic that is often treated as a fairy tale, the battle between light and darkness. But when we look at the direct teachings of Yeshua, we see that He was actually describing the spiritual physics of how our world is built. In the Quantum Whakapapa project, we look at light and darkness as two different types of energy that we deal with every single day. To understand these teachings, we first look at the Greek words Yeshua used and how they fit into our world.

  • Phōs (Greek): In English, this is Light or Radiance. In Te Reo Māori, the closest words are Mārama or Tīaho. It means a bright source that makes everything clear to see and understand.

  • Skotos (Greek): In English, this is Darkness or Gloom. In Te Reo Māori, it is Pōuri or Kāpō. It describes being in a fog where you are blinded and cannot find your way.

Understanding the Signal

Phōs or Mārama is the good signal that brings order and peace to our lives. When things are clear, we can make good choices for our whānau. Skotos or Pōuri is like static on a radio. It is the confusion and stress that makes us feel heavy and lost. Yeshua explained that those who follow Him will never walk in this darkness, but will have the light of life (John 8:12).

The Eye as a Lamp

Yeshua taught that your eye is like a lamp for your whole body (Matthew 6:22). If your eye is healthy and focused on the light, your whole life will be bright and clear (Matthew 6:22). But if your eye is unhealthy, your whole life will be filled with darkness and fog (Matthew 6:23). He warned us to see to it that the light within us is not actually darkness (Luke 11:35). This means your focus decides if you live in peace or in stress.

You are the Light

Yeshua told His followers that they are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). He compared us to a town built on a hill that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). He said that people don't light a lamp just to put it under a bowl; instead, they put it on a stand so it gives light to everyone in the house (Matthew 5:15). We are meant to bring that clarity and kindness to everyone in the North, letting our light shine so others can see our good works (Matthew 5:16).

Choosing the Truth

Yeshua explained that the verdict is simple: light has come into the world, but some people choose the darkness because it hides the bad things they do (John 3:19). People who do evil hate the light because they are afraid their actions will be exposed (John 3:20). But people who live by the truth want to be in the light so everyone can see they are doing the Master's work (John 3:21). For us in Taitokerau, choosing the light means being honest and helping our community grow.

Practical Daily Steps

  • Check Your Focus: Ask yourself if your thoughts today are making things clear (Mārama) or making you feel foggy and sad (Pōuri).

  • Believe in the Light: Yeshua urged us to believe in the light while we have it so we can become children of light (John 12:36).

  • Be a Shining Light: Don't hide the good things you know. Use your skills and your love to help clear the fog for someone else today.
