THE ALPHA FREQUENCY #709 - CHOOSING RADICAL LOVE: YESHUA’S TEACHINGS ABOUT MERCY AND JUSTICE

Christian Leaders in the Media

I write this Alpha Frequency post grounded in the same Wairua Tapu that calls us to “Goodwill toward Mankind”. My heart is heavy because the way some Christian Leaders are portrayed in the media is bringing the Gospel into disrepute. Let me be very clear, I’m not here to judge anyone, that’s God’s role alone. Furthermore, I have enough life experience to know that rumours and media reports are not always accurate. Nonetheless, it’s on my heart to set the record straight on Yeshua’s teachings on a few matters.

You Cannot Serve Both God And Money

Yeshua taught a very practical truth: where your treasure is, your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21). Approximately 15% of His recorded teachings address the stewardship of possessions, warning that how we manage worldly wealth is the true diagnostic of our spiritual health. You cannot serve both God and Money; they are mutually exclusive ultimate allegiances (Matthew 6:24). When we prioritise the accumulation of wealth for its own sake, we are running on "Babylonian" software that is thermodynamically destined to fail.

Devouring Widows' Houses

Yeshua reserved His most biting condemnation for those who "devour widows' houses" while making long, performative prayers (Matthew 23:14). By requiring meticulous tithing from those who struggle while leaders live in luxury, we mirror the Pharisees who tithed their mint and dill but neglected the "weightier matters" of the law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness (Matthew 23:23). This creates a "Leaky Bucket", a system that extracts talent and spirit from the community and replaces it with high-entropy anxiety and debt.

The Stranger at the Door

In the "Woven Universe" where everything is connected, how we treat the newcomer to our shores is a direct reflection of our own spiritual health. The ancient "Third Tithe" of the Old Covenant was specifically designed as a social welfare fund for the "stranger", and Yeshua took this even further by identifying Himself so closely with the marginalised that He stated, "For I was a stranger and you invited me in" (Matthew 25:35). When we choose to welcome the immigrant, we aren't just being kind; we are honouring the heart of Whanaungatanga, the deep, quantum reality that there is no "us" and "them," only a single family entangled in the same life force.

Love Thy Neighbour

Regarding the Rainbow community, Yeshua didn't give a list of exclusions; He gave a single, powerful command: "Love your neighbour as yourself" (Mark 12:31). In the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, the ultimate criterion for judgment is not the perfection of religious ritual, but the depth of our mercy (Matthew 25:31-46). By casting stones at those who are different, we just create more "entropy" (disorder and chaos) rather than building the connection we all need. A "good eye" fills the whole person with light; a judgmental eye leaves the body in darkness (Matthew 6:22-23).

Leading our Rangatahi Astray

What makes a divided heart even more grievous is leading impressionable rangatahi (youth) astray. When we teach our youth to judge the immigrant or the Rainbow community, we are teaching them a "physics of separation" that leads to social chaos. Yeshua warned us sternly about this: "If anyone causes one of these little ones... to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea" (Matthew 18:6).

The Path of Stewardship

Ultimately, the transition to Te Ōhanga Mauri requires us to move beyond individual ambition and toward a collective stewardship of the Master's assets. By choosing a "Single Eye" and an undivided heart, we stop the thermodynamic leaks in our communities and start building an environment where every soul, whether rangatahi, immigrant, or neighbour, is valued as part of the same Woven Universe. As we approach the "Snap," our greatest protection is not found in the luxury of religious institutionalism, but in the radical mercy and simple integrity of Yeshua’s original signal. Let us choose today to be the builders of a future where the well-being of the whole community is the primary measure of our success.
