IO’S CREATION #812 - TE WHENUA TAURIKURA: BUILDING THE THRIVING LAND TOGETHER

The Destination of the Woven Universe

We have reached the end of our journey through the architecture of the heavens. We have seen how the Creator started the world with a field of potential, how Ihu (Yeshua’s name in the Paipera Tapu) sustains the connection between all things, and how the spiritual helpers manage nature. Now, we look at the final goal: Te Whenua Taurikura, the Thriving Land. This is the state of Mauri Ora, where the "Woven Universe" is fully repaired, and the life force of the people and the land flows freely without being blocked.

Connection as a Law of Life

The way we reach this thriving land is through Whanaungatanga. In our framework, Whanaungatanga is not just a nice social idea, it is a physical law that describes how everything is deeply connected. Science has proven that once things have interacted, they remain connected no matter how far apart they are. This means that if the land is damaged, the people are physically and spiritually damaged too, because we share the same life force. To build a thriving land, we must live in the truth that being "separate" is just an illusion.

IO’S CREATION #811 - THE MISSION OF MANA: CHOOSING OUR FUTURE OF ABUNDANCE

The Power to Choose

In our previous talk, we looked at how humans are meant to be active participants in the world. We have been given a special tool for this called Mana. In the "Woven Universe," Mana is much more than just a title or a reputation. It is the authority given to us by Io to choose which possible future becomes our physical reality.

A World of Possibilities

Think of the world around us as a "weave" of many different outcomes that could happen. At any moment, there are many ways the future could go, some lead to life and others lead to decay. In science, they say that all these possibilities exist as "maybes" until someone steps in to observe them and make a choice.

IO'S CREATION #810 - PEOPLE WHO SHAPE REALITY: THE POWER OF YOUR ATTENTION

The Masterpiece of Creation

In the grand design of the world, humans hold a very special place. We aren't just accidental bystanders in a cold, empty space; we were created with a spirit, a soul, and a body, carefully shaped by the "breath of lives" from the Creator. According to our ancient traditions and the Bible, we were made in the "image" of God, designed specifically to know and talk to the Source within ourselves. This design means we were built to play an active role in a world that actually responds to how we observe it.

Mana: The Power of Your Focus

In modern science, there is a famous idea called the "Observer Effect." It shows that the simple act of watching something or paying attention to it actually changes how that thing behaves—it turns a world of "maybe" into a solid reality.

In our Māori worldview, this special power is known as Mana. Mana is the spiritual authority and the ability to observe given to us by Io to help influence and shape the world. We aren't just watching life happen; we are helping to "observe" it into being through our intentions, our prayers, and how we care for things.

IO'S CREATION #806 - ATUA MĀORI: REGENTS OF THE LIVING WORLD

A Divine Design

Kia ora e te whānau. When we look at the way our world is put together, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer scale of it all. For many, God is a distant figure sitting far away, but our Ngāpuhi ancestors and the ancient writers of the Ethiopian Bible saw things differently. They understood that the Creator, Io-Matua Kore, established a sophisticated, local way of looking after the environment. He did not design a system where He stayed in the highest heaven doing every small task Himself; instead, He delegated the work to specific guardians we call Regents.

The Natural Departments

In our tradition, we recognise the Atua Māori as the children of the stars and the earth, appointed to oversee different "departments" of nature. This is not just a collection of stories, it is a practical way to manage the mauri, or life force, of our land. Whether it is the depth of the ocean or the height of the forest, there is a Regent responsible for that area’s health. If we want to see Taitokerau thrive, we have to respect the authority of these guardians.

IO'S CREATION #805 - THE UNFOLDING STORY: WHY THE UNIVERSE NEVER STOPPED GROWING

A living process

When we talk about the beginning of the world, we often speak as if it was a one-time event that finished a long time ago. We think of the universe like a house that was built, painted, and finished before we arrived. But our ancestors in the North had a much more exciting way of looking at it. To them, the world is more like a woven cloak that is still being made, one thread at a time.

The first movement

The story of Io-matua-kore tells us that in the beginning, everything was still and quiet. Then, Io moved within the vastness of space. This initial movement was the birth of time, space, and life. Our traditions call this the "First Strand," or Te Aho Tuatahi. This implies that the story did not end there. If there is a first strand, it means more strands are meant to follow. Creation was not a finished project; it was the start of an ongoing conversation.
