Listening For Truth
Kia ora e te whānau. Have you ever noticed how the same message can come to you from completely different places? You might hear a song on the radio, read a line in an old book, or remember a story from your koro, and suddenly it all clicks. We call this the "Prophetic Signal." It’s like the Creator is trying to get us all on the same page, tuning us into the "Alpha Frequency" so we can find our way back to a life of peace and abundance.
Bob Marley’s Message
Think about someone like Bob Marley. He wasn't just a singer; he was a voice for the people. When he sang about "emancipating yourselves from mental slavery," he was telling us that the biggest chains we wear are the ones in our own minds. He was calling us to leave "Babylon", the system of greed and separation, and look toward a better way of living together. He was reminding us that we have the power to change our own story.
The Buddha’s Wisdom
Even thousands of years ago, voices like the Buddha were picking up on this same signal. He taught that nothing in this world stands alone. He saw that if you touch one thing, you touch everything. In our Ngāpuhi way, we call this Whanaungatanga. It is the truth that we are all woven together. When we hurt the land or our neighbours, we are really hurting ourselves. This ancient wisdom proves that the "Woven Universe" is a truth that has been signaled to humanity since the beginning.
The Living Word
While there have been many voices, I believe the clearest signal of all comes through Ihu (Yeshua's name in the Paipera Tapu). He is the Living Word who holds the whole weave together. Ihu taught us that He has "other sheep" who aren't in the same fold. He came to gather everyone, no matter their culture or background, into one whānau, guided by the law of love.

Leaving Babylon Behind
The system we live in today, what we call Babylon, is built on the lie that we are all separate and that we have to compete to survive. It tells us that success is about taking as much as we can. But that way of living is running out of steam. The Prophetic Signal is calling us to leave that "Babylonian" mindset behind and start building Te Whenua Taurikura, the thriving land.
Leading from the North
I truly believe that here in Taitokerau, we are in a special position to lead this change. We have the ancestral wisdom of our wānanga and the spiritual grounding of our faith. When we listen to these prophetic voices, we see that they are all pointing us toward the same thing: a world where we look after the land, care for the poor, and live in the light of the Source. Let’s stop listening to the "static" of greed and start tuning into the frequency of hope and connection.
