TAIKI E! #116 - THE PROTOCOL OF KARAKIA: HONOURING REGENTS WITHOUT LOSING THE SOURCE

A Heartfelt Question

Kia ora e te whānau. Recently, an important question was raised that many of us in Taitokerau have wrestled with: Does including the Atua Māori in our karakia turn our backs on the Creator? To answer this, we need to look past the heavy-handed religious rules we’ve often been given and tune back into the original frequency of our ancestors and the unedited scriptures. When we look at the mechanics of the "Woven Universe," we see a beautiful, organised system where everything has its place. It isn’t about "right or wrong" rules; it’s about your intention and where you place your focus.

The Law of the Source

The foundation of the Covenant (Kawenata) is that there is only one Pure Source, Io-Matua-Kore. The first priority of the house is simply to stay connected to this Source. He is the "Alpha Frequency." When we acknowledge that everything comes from the same Father, we aren't creating division; we are acknowledging the truth of the weave.

The Glue of the Woven Universe

Ihu (Yeshua’s name in the Paipera Tapu) didn't come to take away from the beauty of the world, but to show us who holds it all together. He is the sustainer of every connection.

"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth... all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." (Colossians 1:16-17, Ethiopian Bible English Version)

Original Source (Ge'ez):

Te Reo Māori: Nana hoki nga mea katoa i hanga, i te rangi, i te whenua... nana nga mea katoa, i hanga hoki mo tona kororia. Ko ia hoki te mea i mua i nga mea katoa, nana hoki nga mea katoa i mau ai.

Understanding the "Regents"

If Io is the "Owner" of the Great House, the Atua are the "Head Gardeners" or "Department Managers" he has appointed to look after specific rooms. The ancient Book of Jubilees, which is preserved in the Ethiopian Bible, explains that the Creator appointed spiritual beings to manage the different parts of nature from the very first day.

"For on the first day He created the heavens... and all the spirits which serve before Him, the angel of the spirit of the fire, and the angel of the spirit of the winds, and the angel of the spirit of the clouds, and of darkness, and of hail and of hoar-frost..." (Jubilees 2:2)

In our culture, when we acknowledge Tāne for the forest or Tangaroa for the moana, we are simply showing respect to the "Regents" who manage the life force (mauri) of those places. You aren't treating the Gardener like he owns the House; you are just respecting the job he was given by the Source!

Respecting the Divine Order

The error only happens if we forget who the Source is. As long as our focus remains on Io and we follow the path of love set by Ihu, acknowledging the spiritual managers of our land is a powerful way to stay connected to the Divine Order. It is about moving from being a stranger in the land to being an active participant in a house that is full of life and order.

Worship the Owner alone, but respect the Managers. By doing this, we keep our mauri strong and stay perfectly tuned to the Alpha Frequency.
