WOVEN UNIVERSE #902 - THE QUANTUM PLENUM: IO-MATUA-KORE AS THE SOURCE OF ALL POTENTIAL
The Foundation of the Navigator
To appreciate Rev. Māori Marsden’s grasp of the Woven Universe, we must look at the roots of his own whakapapa. Born in Awanui in 1924, he was raised within the Waimanoni community, a place where the spiritual and physical worlds were never separate. While his siblings attended St Stephens, Marsden went to Wesley College, where he began to sharpen the intellect that would later bridge two worlds. While he was a gifted student across many areas, it was his mastery of Greek that stood out, providing him with a forensic linguistic toolset to later compare the Greek Logos with the Māori Kōrero. This academic excellence, paired with his traditional training in the Whare Wānanga, allowed him to see the universe not as a collection of objects, but as a sea of potentiality.
The Plenum of Io-matua-kore
Marsden taught that the ultimate reality is not a vacuum or empty space, but a Plenum, a field that is absolutely full of potential energy and information. He identified this Plenum as Io-matua-kore, the parentless source who exists before the first strand of creation is woven. In modern physics, this aligns with the Zero Point Field or the Quantum Vacuum, a state of infinite energy from which all matter emerges. Io is the ground of being, the self-existent one who matches the biblical description of the Existent One.
The Architecture of Potential
In the Woven Universe, creation is the process of Io-matua-kore moving from inactivity into a state of purposeful expression. This movement is governed by precise informational codes that Marsden preserved through the names of Io:
Io-nui, the infinite expansiveness of the field.
Io-roa, the eternal duration of the field.
Io-taketake, the foundational stability of the field.
Io-wananga, the source of all intelligence and code within the field.
The Role of Yeshua
Marsden was clear that this Plenum is not a cold, impersonal force. He recognised Yeshua as the primary expression of Io's intent, the Word that gives structure to the infinite potential. In our Quantum Whakapapa framework, Yeshua is the Sustainer who ensures the Plenum remains coherent and organised. He is the bridge that allows the infinite energy of Io to be manifested in the physical world without dissolving into chaos.
Reclaiming the Source of Abundance
Understanding Io-matua-kore as the Quantum Plenum is the ultimate antidote to the Leaky Bucket of scarcity. If the source of our reality is a field of infinite potential, then poverty is simply a breakdown in how we realise and manage that field. Marsden’s legacy, rooted in the soil of Waimanoni and refined at Wesley College, calls us to stop acting like victims of a shrinking pie and start acting like Quantum Natives who have direct access to the Source. By aligning our observation with the laws of the Woven Universe, we can begin to collapse the wave function of our region into a state of flourishing and Mauri Ora.
