THE WOVEN UNIVERSE #902 - THE QUANTUM PLENUM: IO-MATUA-KORE AS THE SOURCE OF ALL POTENTIAL
Roots in the North
To truly appreciate the deep insights of Rev. Māori Marsden, we have to start where he started, in the heart of Te Tai Tokerau. Born in Awanui in 1924 and raised in the Waimanoni community, Marsden grew up in a world where the spiritual and physical were never separate. While his siblings were sent to St Stephens, Marsden attended Wesley College. It was here that he began to sharpen the intellect that would eventually bridge the gap between ancient whakapapa and modern physics.
Learning the Sacred Codes
Marsden was a gifted student, but it was his mastery of the Greek language that became a vital tool in his kit. He used this forensic knowledge to compare the Greek concept of Logos with our Māori concept of Kōrero. This academic training, combined with his deep education in the Whare Wānanga, allowed him to see the universe in a way most modern people have forgotten. He didn't see the world as a collection of dead objects, but as a sea of information and intent.
Bridging Ancient Languages
One of Marsden’s most profound realisations was that the universe is not a vacuum. We are often taught that space is empty, but Marsden taught that reality is a Plenum, a field that is absolutely full of potential energy. He identified this Plenum as Io-matua-kore, the parentless source who exists before the first strand of creation is ever woven. This matches perfectly with what modern science calls the Zero Point Field or the Quantum Vacuum, a state of infinite energy from which all matter emerges.
The Sea of Potential
In the framework of the Woven Universe, creation is the process of Io-matua-kore moving from a state of potential into a state of expression. This movement is not random; it is governed by precise informational codes. Marsden preserved these codes through the different names of Io, such as Io-nui (the infinite expansiveness) and Io-wananga (the source of all intelligence). He showed us that scarcity is actually a "Bad Explanation" of a universe that is inherently full of abundance.
The Organising Principle
Māori Marsden was clear that this sea of potential is not some cold, distant force. He recognised Ihu (Yeshua's name in the Paipera Tapu) as the primary expression of Io’s intent. In our Quantum Whakapapa framework, Ihu is the Sustainer, the one who ensures the field remains coherent and organised. He is the bridge that allows the infinite energy of the Source to manifest in our daily lives without dissolving into chaos.
Abundance for All
Ihu (Yeshua's name in the Paipera Tapu) spoke directly about this reality of abundance when He taught about the purpose of His mission:
"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." Ethiopian Orthodox Bible (John 10:10)
Original Ge'ez Text: እመ፡ አነ፡ መጻእኩ፡ ከመ፡ ሕይወተ፡ ይረክቡ፡ ወከመ፡ ይፈድፍዱ።
Direct Ge'ez to Te Reo Māori Translation: I haere mai ahau kia whiwhi ai rātou ki te ora, kia hira rawa ai hoki taua ora.
Realising Our Inherent Wealth
Understanding Io-matua-kore as the Quantum Plenum is the ultimate cure for the "Leaky Bucket" of poverty and scarcity in our region. If the source of our reality is infinite, then the struggle we see in Taitokerau is simply a breakdown in how we realise and manage that field. Marsden’s legacy calls us to stop acting like victims of a shrinking pie. Instead, we must activate as "Quantum Natives" who understand our direct access to the Source.
A Light to Others
By aligning our thoughts and actions with the laws of the Woven Universe, we can begin to change the reality of our region. We aren't just looking for growth; we are looking for equity and the preservation of mauri. As we fix the soil and stop the leaks, Taitokerau will become that shining light of peace and goodwill it was always meant to be. We are moving from the static of the past into the high fidelity signal of a thriving future.
