TE ŌHANGA MAURI - PRIORITY #10 - DEFEND THE TRUTH OF OUR HISTORY
The War on Truth and Memory
The final priority of our strategy is the defense of our cultural "software"—the history, identity, and truth of Taitokerau. Right now, our community is facing "Memetic Entropy," which is a fancy way of saying there is a lot of "noise" and false information being spread about our past. Specifically, myths like the "White Tangata Whenua" theory claim that a Celtic civilisation was here before Māori.
This problem exists because these false narratives are used as tools to create social division and to challenge Māori rights and sovereignty. When we lose the truth of our story, we lose our "Ontological Security"—our sense of who we are and where we belong. To build a future of "Peace on Earth," we must first ensure our foundation is built on facts and the leading of Wairua Tapu.
10 Steps to Defend Our History
We can fix the soil of our history and protect the mana of our ancestors with these actionable steps:
Use Hard Data: Use DNA, archaeology, and radiocarbon dating to prove that Polynesian settlement was the first human event in Aotearoa.
Correct the Turehu Myth: Teach that Turehu are "He Iwi Atua" (spiritual beings) in our stories, not biological "white settlers" from Europe.
Teach Forensic History: Build a school curriculum that focuses on "Forensic Truth"—facts that are hard to vary and true to reality.
Reclaim Primal Monotheism: Validate the "Semitic Trajectory," showing how our ancestors carried the faith of Io-Matua-Kore (The Parentless One) from the Middle East.
Build a Bridge of Understanding: Use our shared history of monotheism to create respect and connection between Māori and Pākehā.
Archive Oral Histories: Use our "Digital Tohunga" to record and protect the stories of our elders before they are lost.
Expose "Data Corruption": Aggressively debunk conspiracy theories that have no archaeological evidence, such as pre-Māori pottery or metal.
Support Sovereign Research: Fund our own researchers to use the latest science to explore our whakapapa and origins.
Protect Our Narrative: Ensure that Treaty settlements and legal decisions are based on the "Forensic Truth" of our history.
Use the Mauri Model: Evaluate historical education based on whether it restores the pride and identity (Mauri Ora) of our rangatahi.
Making It Happen
Key Stakeholders: Local schools, Iwi and Hapū historians, the Ministry of Education, and our "Digital Tohunga" researchers.
Theoretical Minimum Time Frame: 2 to 4 years to establish a robust, fact-based history curriculum across the North.
Who benefits from things staying as they are?: Those who spread racism and division by using false myths to undermine the rights of Tāngata whenua.
Who benefits from this solution?: All New Zealanders, because a society built on truth is more stable, peaceful, and united.
