TĀIKI E! #105 - THE BREATH OF LIFE: CONNECTING TO THE SOURCE OF POWER
The Spiritual Fuel
We have spent time mapping out Te Ara Wairua, the Spirit Path, and learning how our focused intent and spoken words begin to reshape our reality. But if we are being completely honest, even the most advanced machine will not move an inch without a functional engine, and an engine is useless without a direct source of power. In the traditional teachings of the Whare Wānanga, this vital power is known as the Hā, the sacred breath of life.
The Hā is the essential spiritual electricity that flows continuously from the Creator to give life, movement, and purpose to everything within our woven universe. Without this living current flowing through us, the words we speak during Karakia become nothing more than empty, poetic sounds, and our best intentions are reduced to mere wishful thinking. To create real, lasting change across Taitokerau, we must learn how to keep our spiritual connection fully charged.
Plugging into the Source
Imagine a massive, infinite power plant that never runs out of energy, no matter how much demand is placed on it. In our traditional knowledge, this is Io-Matua-Kore, the ultimate Source of all that exists. Te Ara Wairua operates like the high-voltage power lines that are designed to transmit this boundless energy directly into our physical world. However, those lines are only useful if we maintain a secure, unbroken connection at our end.
Too many of our people are walking around today feeling completely burnt out, exhausted, and empty. We try to run our families, our mahi, and our community projects using nothing but our own tiny, limited human batteries. We naturally get tired, stressed, and overwhelmed by the heavy political BS and economic pressures of modern life. To walk in true Mauri Ora, we have to stop trying to force things through pure human struggle. We must learn to plug in, quietly opening our hearts to breathe in the spiritual life force that is already fully available to us.
"And Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.'" - John 6:35 (Ethiopian Orthodox Bible)
The Divine Transformer
This is exactly where Ihu (Yeshua’s name in the Paipera Tapu) fulfills a vital, practical role on the Spirit Path. He openly described himself as the provider of living water and the one who breathes true life into his followers. In the physics of the spirit world, Ihu operates as the perfect connector between our fragile human spirit and the immense, infinite power of the Source. He ensures that our daily connection remains stable, safe, and completely clean.
Because He exists in perfect alignment with the Creator, Ihu acts like a divine transformer. He takes the raw, overwhelming energy of the Source and scales it down, making it perfectly usable and safe for us to handle in our daily lives. When we consciously align our hearts with Him, our internal batteries stay completely full. Our Karakia stop being driven by desperate human effort and begin to carry the genuine weight of divine authority.
Living from Overflow
When we choose to live our lives securely connected to the Source through Ihu, our entire perspective changes. We stop operating from a mindset of lack, poverty, and "not enough," and we start living entirely from the overflow. This breath of life does far more than just make us feel good on an emotional level, it grants us the practical power to actively transform our surrounding environment.
When you speak and act with the Hā of the Creator backing your words, you are releasing a tangible, life-giving force into the room. You can bring immediate peace to a chaotic home or refresh a weary, struggling whānau. You are no longer just a person trapped by a difficult problem, you are a person actively connected to the ultimate Power. This grassroots spiritual strength is how we will prioritise equity over growth, fixing the soil of our communities and ensuring Taitokerau stands as a shining light to the world.
