The Engine Needs Fuel
We have talked about the Spirit Path, our intent, and our words. But even the best car won't move without an engine, and an engine won't run without power. In the traditions of the Whare Wānanga, this power is known as the Hā, the breath of life. It is the spiritual "electricity" that flows from the Source and gives life to everything in the Woven Universe. Without this connection, our Karakia are just empty sounds, and our intentions are just wishful thinking.
Plugging into the Ultimate Power Plant
Imagine a massive power plant that never runs out of energy. In our knowledge, this is Io-matua-kore, the Source of all that is. The Spirit Path (Te Ara Wairua) is like the power lines that bring that energy into our world. However, those lines only work if there is a solid connection.
Many of us feel "burnt out" or "empty" because we are trying to run our lives on our own tiny batteries. We get tired, stressed, and overwhelmed. To walk in Mauri Ora, we have to learn how to "plug in" to the Source. This isn't about working harder, it is about learning to breathe in the spiritual life force that is already available to us.
Yeshua: The Connector
This is where Yeshua plays a vital role. He described himself as the one who gives "Living Water" and the one who breathes life into his followers. In the physics of the Spirit Path, Yeshua acts as the connector between our human spirit and the infinite power of the Source.
He ensures that the connection is stable and that the power flowing through us is "clean." Because He is perfectly aligned with the Creator, He acts like a transformer, taking the immense, raw power of the Source and making it usable and safe for us to handle. When we align with Him, our "batteries" stay full, and our Karakia carry the weight of divine authority rather than just human effort.
Living from the Overflow
When we are connected to the Source through Yeshua, we stop living from a place of "not enough." We start living from the overflow. This "Breath of Life" doesn't just help us feel better, it gives us the power to bring change to our environment. When you speak with the Hā of the Source behind your words, you are releasing a life-giving force that can refresh a weary whānau or bring peace to a chaotic situation. You are no longer just a person with a problem, you are a person connected to the Power.
