TE ŌHANGA MAURI #153 - INTEGRITY, TRUST, AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN TE ŌHANGA MAURI
Cutting Through Red Tape
If there is one thing we as Māori know in our bones, it is that we have zero patience for endless bureaucratic forms, red tape, and legalistic compliance. For generations, the modern corporate system has forced us to sign thick contracts and jump through compliance hoops just to do simple things. That whole setup was built on suspicion, assuming everyone is out to trick each other.
In Te Ōhanga Mauri, the economy of life force, we choose a completely different path. We leave behind that cold, bureaucratic trap by doubling down on relational trust and personal integrity. When we deal with each other as whānau and business partners, our word must be our bond. If we want to build true independence in Te Tai Tokerau, our handshakes and commitments must mean something solid.
