STRATEGIC PAPER #111 - GLOBAL CONFLICT AND LOCAL MAURI
The Global Crisis
When we look at the state of our world today, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the heavy clouds of conflict gathering overseas. The ongoing devastation in the Middle East, particularly the heartbreaking conflict between Israel and Palestine, is a tragic display of a broken system. This conflict functions like a massive engine of destruction, burning through countless lives, innocent communities, and precious resources. It is a broken, high-entropy structure that generates pure chaos and leaves families in a state of deep exhaustion.
As tāngata whenua here in Taitokerau, we might think these distant wars have nothing to do with us. But we must open our eyes to how these global events impact our own lives. When human systems choose violence, division, and control over unity, they drain the collective life force of humanity, creating waves of unrest that roll across the entire planet.
Overcoming Spiritual Suppression
Our recent learnings from Research Report #270 highlight a deeper truth, global conflicts are not just material or political disagreements, they represent a widespread form of spiritual suppression. When heavy institutional structures use physical force and political manipulation, they actively suppress the natural spiritual energy and inherent dignity of regular human beings. This systematic crushing of the human spirit creates a state of spiritual starvation, trapping people in cycles of fear and retaliation.
This global machinery acts as a massive drain on the earth, wasting resources that should be used to build dry houses, feed communities, and heal the environment. We must be candid about these significant failures. When systems are built entirely on greed, extraction, and the suppression of human potential, they always result in systemic decay. Our guide through this darkness must be our faith, keeping our hearts open to peace, love, and goodwill to mankind.
As we navigate these challenging times, we look to the path of peace and restoration that is set out for us by Wairua Tapu. We find our strength and clarity in the timeless instructions given by Ihu (Yeshua's name in the Paipera Tapu), who explicitly blessed those who actively work to bring people together and heal divisions.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. - Matthew 5:9 (Ethiopian Orthodox Bible)

Our Interconnected Creation
To understand why this matters locally, we must remember the ancient teachings of our elders regarding the Woven Universe. We do not live in isolation, separate from the rest of the world. Everything in this creation is bound together by invisible threads connecting the stars, the land, and the people. Mauri is the vital quantum information that maintains order and keeps a system from collapsing into complete chaos. When global systems are disrupted by war and oppression, that low-frequency static ripples across the ocean, trying to suppress the Mauri of our own land and people.
If we allow the bitterness and polarisation of overseas conflicts to divide us, or if we copy their heavy-handed ways of dealing with disagreement, we bring that same destructive energy into our homes. The financial leaks, the rising cost of living, and the social anxiety we feel are direct results of these global entanglements. We cannot allow external chaos to corrupt our local mission or fracture our whānau.
A Spiritual Revival
The antidote to widespread spiritual suppression is a localised spiritual revival. This is the core message we must carry forward from our research. We cannot stop the giant machines of overseas empires by using their own worldly tactics. Instead, our true weapon against global confusion is our commitment to building a righteous, circular economy right here on our own soil through the principles of Te Ōhanga Mauri (the Economy of Life Force).
Our collective responsibility is to fix our own soil, look after our youth, and ensure that the economic pie is shared fairly among all our people. By turning away from global systems of division and focusing on grassroots action, we protect our regional community from systemic decay. By guarding the Mauri of Te Tai Tokerau and standing firm in our faith, we can transform the North into a fortified haven of stability. In doing so, our home will become a shining light to the rest of the world, showing the nations how a community can completely reverse suppression and thrive in genuine peace, unity, and abundance.
